The Ontario Federation of Snowmobile Clubs says a recent report on
injury rates overlooks regional safety programs.
The Canadian Institute for Health Information document indicates
snowmobile incidents remain the number 1 cause of recreational-related
injuries.
Club Spokesperson Craig Nicholson says the report provides no new
information.
Nicholson says the number of fatalities has dropped significantly
each year because of public awareness campaigns.
There have been 15-snowmobiling fatalities in Ontario this year.
