The Ford government is promising more access to healthcare with changes to OHIP+.
Minister of Health Christine Elliott calls it a move to save taxpayers money by making sure all children and young adults are covered by the plan, but those that have private plans will now bill those first.
Any costs not paid by their insurance plans can then be billed to OHIP.
he Minister adds this will free up resources for those who don’t have private plans.
The government adds private plans can cover more drugs than the public system, meaning children will have access to better care.
Elliott says Premier Ford promised to find savings without compromising services or jobs, and claims he’s delivering. (File Photo)
