The Ontario Hockey League draft was held over the weekend in Kingston.
The Owen Sound Attack selected Thunder Bay native Jace Voortman in the 3rd round. Voortman suited up for the Toronto Junior Canadiens this past season.
One pick later Kingston Frontenacs picked up Thunder Bay’s Gavin Godick, a member of the Don Mills Flyers.
Brady Nash of Thunder Bay, who also skated with the Don Mills Flyers this past season, was picked in the 6th round by the Barrie Colts.
The Niagara Ice Dogs picked up Felix Sapay of Dryden who skated with the Sudbury U16AAA club this winter. Sapay went in the 12th round, 230th overall.
Kane Cloutier went first overall to the Oshawa Generals. The forward who will turn 16 on Sunday was a member of the Vaughan Kings he had 58 points in 33 games. Cloutier’s father Dan was an NHL goalie with the Vancouver Canucks.
