The Ontario Medical Association says it’s looking at options to address a shortage of doctors in northern communities.
President Dr. Nadia Alam says one idea that’s under consideration by the Canadian Medical Association is a national medical license.
Alam says the licence would make it easier for doctors to move between province’s to practice medicine.
She says they need to figure out how all agencies can help improve patient care, including providing mobile care for remote communities.
Dr. Alam made her comments during her tour across northwestern Ontario last week, which included stops in Dryden and Kenora.
