Municipalities in the Kenora-Rainy River District are being encouraged to play a larger role in boosting their image and economies on-line.
Dryden will host an e-government workshop next week.
Brad Johns, Director of Engineering and Public Works for the City of Dryden says the on-line “portal” will allow municipalities to access a wealth of information.
Johns says the portal gives municipalities the chance to access information and software at a lower cost.
He adds it would allow the public to pay bills and find out such things as city council minutes.
The workshops are financed by the Ontario Superbuild Fund.
The E-government workshops will be held at the Best Western on March 20th and 21st.
Johns says he hopes to draw about 50-municipal participants from various departments.
