One fatality in collision near Shabaqua Corners

One person has been killed as a result of a collision near Shabaqua Corners on Highway 11/17 Wednesday night.

The OPP say the accident took place around 8:30 pm and involved two tractor-trailer units.

Police say one person was pronounced dead at the scene.

Two other people, a driver and a passenger, were taken to hospital for treatment of their injuries.

The highway was closed for several hours as a result of the collision.

Anyone who may have witnessed the crash or has dashcam footage from the area at the time of the accident is asked to contact the OPP at 1-888-310-1122 or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477 or online at ontariocrimestoppers.ca.
