The Ontario Travel Information Centre in Fort Frances is staying where it is – at least for the foreseeable future.
Despite continued lobbying efforts, Fort Frances Town Councilor Tannis Drysdale notes a recent meeting with the minister of tourism in Toronto proved disappointing.

Although the previous Conservative government seemed ready to move the travel centre, lobbying efforts had to begin again when the Liberals came to power in 2003.
Stats have showed a big drop in the number of visitors at the Fort Frances travel centre since the new Canada Customs building opened in 2001.
