Ontario Energy Board Releases Consultation Results

The Ontario Energy Board has released a summary of public consultation sessions held in Kenora on the Energy East Pipeline project.
Pipeline safety was one of the main concerns of the 60 or so people who attended.
More information about water crossings, emergency response and long term accountability have been requested.
There were also suggestions that greener alternatives should be sought rather than supporting the pipeline project.
Others felt that the project should do more to help the Ontario economy and suggested the pipeline feed refineries in the province.
There were also a number of concerns raised about the impact of the project on climate change.
The OEB says it has extended its deadline for feedback on Energy East for another two weeks.
