Ontario Regional Chief Pleased With Federal Government Efforts

Ontario Regional Chief Isadore Day is pleased the Federal government is committed to renew the relationship between Canada and Indigenous people.

Day says the Liberals have promised a new partnership based on recognition of rights, mutual respect and cooperation.

Speaking in Dryden, Day acknowledges that he does have concerns saying First Nations need to be careful going into this and look at the timelines as the Liberal Government will be trying to get this in before their term is over.

Day isn’t sure proper consultations with First Nations will be effectively carried out.
