Putting old tires to good use!
Ontario Tire Stewardship is offering cash to recycle old tires.
Executive Director Andrew Horsman says they can be recycled into new fitness tracks or playground surfaces.
Horsman adds the initiative helps the province manage the 13-million scrap tires generated each year.
He notes 24 projects have already been completed in 17 different communities, with the funding support.
