A project at Open Roads School in Dryden is in the running for $1,250 from Tbaytel’s “Good Schools Program”.
The school has reached the top 10 in on-line voting and is trying to win the money to buy canoes for their Annual four-day canoe trip to the White Otter Castle.
Spokesperson Deidre McQuade says the ‘Explore Program’ also teaches important swimming and water safety skills.
McQuade says they currently borrow canoes from the High School, but they want to purchase their own “lighter weight” vessels, better equipped for Elementary students.
Voting ends on November 5th and you can vote five times a day.
