The Ontario Power Generation is facing a fine of $40,000 dollars.
It comes after an Ontario Court of Justice found them guilty of failing to test a gasket at its Atikokan power plant for asbestos.
Between October 29th and November 1st of 2012, two workers attempted to scrape and grind gasket material off a pipe in the plant.
The OPG had not tested the gasket to ensure it wasn’t made with asbestos.
