There is another call for the Ford government to do more to help with the opioid crisis in northern Ontario.
NDP MPP Jamie West explains there is only one overdose prevention site, and that is located in Thunder Bay.
“The government needs to stop ignoring the north. It needs to ensure that people and families in crisis have access to overdose prevention as well as treatment and care.”
West has introduced a private members bill demanding the province declare a public health emergency.
He stresses it’s time for the government to fight this epidemic and saving lives in northern Ontario.
