OPP Busy Over Long Weekend

Provincial Police in northwestern Ontario are out with the stats from a Canada Day long weekend blitz.

There was one death reported over the holiday weekend.

One person was killed when his All-Terrain Vehicle struck a hydro pole in Conmee Township in the Thunder Bay district.

Province-wide, there were 13 deaths: seven on the highways and five in the water.

In our region, police laid 326 speeding charges, 53 liquor licence act charges and 18 seat belt charges. (File Photo)
