We’re in for a hot and humid weekend prompting a heat warning from Environment Canada.
Meteorologist Ria Alsen tells us it’s affecting much of the Northwest, as the mercury is expected to climb near 30 today and tomorrow, and only cool down to near 20 tonight.
However, she points out the heat should let up Sunday night.
“It’s only a two-day [heat] event, really– today, tonight, tomorrow,” she explains, but in the meantime, Alsen warns you to stay in the shade or indoors and keep hydrated.
She advises you to stick to water, not caffeine or alcohol, and to “drink before you feel thirsty, because you actually get dehydrated before you realize it.”
Alsen also reminds you not to leave any passengers in a parked car, be they pets, friends, or relatives.
“Even though the temperatures might not seem too extreme at 30 degrees, interiors of vehicles do warm up really quickly.” (File Photo)
