The O.P.P. have determined that the death of a Kasabonika Lake First Nation woman was not the result of a criminal offence.
Nishnawbe-Aski Police requested the assistance of Provincial Police in regards to the death of 23-year-old Lena Anderson while she was in NAPS custody.
O.P.P Acting Sergeant Anne McCoy says investigators have determined that when the NAPS officer noticed that Anderson was unresponsive, he took her to the local nursing station where she was pronounced shortly after.
McCoy says the Regional Coroner’s Office has confirmed that an inquest will be conducted regarding the incident.
