Ontario Provincial Police in Dryden are giving credit to the Provincial Liaison Team.
The unit deals specifically with aboriginal issues and has been involved in events such as the Idle No More movements and the on-going blockades at Grassy Narrows First Nation.
Sergeant Marty Singleton says last year they helped out in North Spirit Lake when a plane crashed in the community.
Singleton adds the team was also actively involved in the recent First Nations’ hockey Tournaments.
He stresses the team makes it easier for OPP to do their job.
The Provincial Liaison team consists of about 14 officers.
