OPP Launch Distracted Driving Campaign Next Week

The Ontario Provincial Police are gearing up for their Distracted Driving Campaign.
It runs from April 15th to 22nd, and Dryden Detachment Commander Chuck Wesley says it’s important for drivers to keep their eyes on the road.
Distracted driving includes using any electronic device, eating and drinking, fixing your hair or makeup and tending to children in the backseat.
Wesley says the fine for distracted driving is 155-dollars, plus a victim fine assistance surcharge.
O.P.P say distracted driving is one of the “Big 4” high risk driving behaviors, which includes not wearing a seatbelt, impaired driving and aggressive driving.
Wesley says no text or phone call is worth losing your life over.
