Manager of the Crime Outreach Program Moe Johnston says it’s quite simple to combat all of those questionable e-mails you receive by ignoring them, or by following up with the agency by phone or in person to see if they are legitimate or not.
Johnston adds nearly 90 per cent of the identify theft taking place is due to weak passwords.
She recommends changing them regularly and make them sentences instead of single words.
