“Make sure yours is on” is the theme of a seabelt campaign now underway across Northwestern Ontario.
Anne McCoy of the Provincial Police says officers will be making sure that everyone is buckled up.
A fine for non-compliance is $200 and 2-demerit points.
Officers will also be checking for properly installed child restraints.
McCoy says 20% of all fatalities this year on OPP-patrolled roads are the result of someone not properly buckled up.
The campaign ends October 6th.
