Dryden OPP members are showing off some of their tools to help educate students about impaired driving.
They showed off both their simulation and go-cart to the Dryden Rotary Club at their last meeting.
Sergeant Michelle Teeple says they have been using these tools at schools in the area including Ignace Public School and they plan to host something similar at Dryden High School.
Teeple says the Rotary Club provided the funds to purchase the trailer which they use to transport their equipment.
She also goes on to say through their DAIRS program they have been hosting family movie nights at the centre.
Teeple explains that if youth are close with their family, they are less likely to make major mistakes including impaired driving.
Constable Petrina Taylor-Hertz mentions that the simulation is much easier to bring to a smaller area, while the go-cart requires a wide open, well set-up area.
They also brought goggles that simulate being impaired by alcohol and informational pamphlets about the dangers and costs of drinking and driving.
