OPSEU-Strike vote results

The Ontario government and the Ontario Public Service Employees Union have resumed contract talks.

Over the weekend OPSEU members voted 65 percent against the government’s final contract offer.

John O’Brien is vice-president of OPSEU for northwestern Ontario and says even though they rejected the contract offer, there hasn’t been any move yet by the union to stage another public service strike.

N001 Q: …EITHER SIDE YET. (18 SECS.)

The agreement contained a two percent wage increase for each year of the three year deal.
