Americans wanting to hunt or fish in Northwestern Ontario next year will need to obtain an Outdoors Card.
The Ministry of Natural Resources says the card, now required by Ontario residents, is over and above the need for a non-resident fishing or hunting license.
Spokesperson Burton McLelland says it’s part of an effort to move towards a new automated system.
McLelland says the new system will allow anglers and hunters to obtain or renew licenses either on-line or over the phone.
He says that should be up and running by 2010.
