No phones and flooded boats equal bad news.
That’s what happened to three men who were reported missing, after a day on the water.
The men set out on Wednesday around 5:30pm from Sorting Gap Marina, and failed to return the same night.
Family members had become nervous and contacted Fort Frances OPP.
Marine patrol was dispatched and searched Canadian and US waters.
Police say they found the men on Thursday around 9:15am at a home on Couchiching First Nation.
Police learned the men’s boat had hit a reef and water started coming onboard. The men were able to get the boat to an island before it became full of water, and the three men stayed on the island overnight.
In the morning, they flagged down a passing boat to help them get back to the main land where they called their families.
