The Province is protecting more of the region’s natural
heritage by adding land to the Provincial Parks and
Conservation Reserve System.
Three areas in Northwestern Ontario have been selected
to be protected, with two new conservation reserves in the
Fort Frances District.
Spokesperson Burton File-Ders says in Kenora, over 8-
thousand hectares of land has been added to the Lake of
the Woods Provincial Park.

grass, prickly pears, as well as eagle and ospry nesting
sites.
