Part time College staff across Ontario have voted overwhelmingly to join the Ontario Public Service Employees Union.
OPSEU says 84 percent cast ballots in support.
The vote had been conducted in June 2016, but the College Employer Council kept ballots from being counted until now, claiming the union had not signed up enough workers to warrant the vote.
OPSEU President Warren ‘Smokey’ Thomas calls it a magnificent victory.
The union already represents the Colleges’ full-time staff.
