The long awaited Path of the Paddle and Trans Canada Trail have finally opened.
A special ceremony was held on Saturday in Kenora to officially launch the recreational trails.
Project General Manager Pam Cain notes the idea was floated around roughly 20-years ago and she’s pleased that it has come to fruition.
Cain believes there’s plenty of enthusiasm among local residents and visitors.
The 1,200 kilometre path connects bodies of water from Thunder Bay, to Atikokan, over to Quetico, up through Dryden and ending in Kenora.
