Dryden Council is expected next Monday to award 2-contracts for the construction of the 2-storey Pavilion at the Sandy Beach Ball Diamonds.
The contracts for the foundation, masonry and electrical work totals $177,000.
Director of Public Works and Engineering Mike Louttit says construction of the Pavilion is already underway and the last of the concrete will be poured this week.
The City must have the project completed by next March due to Federal and Provincial funding commitments.
Louttit says he’s confident they will reach that go, noting the project may be completed by the end of this calendar year.
The Pavilion will include a wheelchair lift, office space, an umpire’s room, canteen and washroom.
Councilor Brian Collins stressed Monday night that he want’s to see a fund-raising plan from the ball diamond committee, as the project is nearly $100,000 short of its goal.
