Ontario Progressive Conservative party leader Patrick Brown is calling on the provincial government to address what he calls a growing opioid and fentanyl crisis.
Brown says a private members bill will be introduced at Queen’s Park in the coming weeks that calls for the funding of an opioid awareness campaign.
He says the Wynne Liberals should be using their limited advertising budget on an important public crisis and not on “self-promotion vanity ads.”
Brown wants the reporting of drug overdoses to be made public.
The party also wants a crack down on the sale of illegal pill press machines it says are used to make counterfeit pills.
