PC Doug Ford says he has a plan to reduce hydro costs by 12%.
Ford says it begins by returning Hydro One dividends back to customers.
He’ll also end the practice of including the cost of conservation programs on hydro bills and put a moratorium on any new energy contracts.
Ford says these measures will save the average Ontario family $173 per year on their hydro bills.
He notes the change will be affordable, modest and responsible and won’t require “shady accounting tricks”.
