The PC government has started the process of scrapping the Green Energy Act.
Legislation has been introduced at Queen’s Park.
Energy Minister and Kenora-Rainy River MPP Greg Rickford says the only thing green about the bill was green lining the pockets of Liberal insiders.
Rickford says the legislation also represents the largest transfer of money from the poor and middle class to the rich in Ontario’s history, with no regards to the people who actually pay hydro bills.
He says getting rid of the Green Energy plan is the first step towards reducing hydro bills by 12%.
