Pepper Spray Incident at Fort High

A 15-year-old male student has been arrested following an incident at Fort Frances High School which forced students to evacuate the building this morning.

OPP say an unknown substance was released in a stairwell at the school shortly after classes began today.

High School principal Gord McCabe believes the substance was some sort of pepper spray but police are doing some testing to confirm that.

McCabe says 16 students were taken to hospital as a precautionary measure but all have since been released.

Students were not allowed to return to class until around 11-am.
