Red Lake’s Pete McLeod was flying high but was hurt by a late penalty in this weekends Red Bull Air Race in Croatia.
McLeod finished seventh after losing in the round of eight against an American competitor.
He was hit with a close call for incorrect level flying through one of the last air gates on the windswept course.
McLeod says he’s disappointed with the final result but notes he had two great runs on race day.
McLeod is still in the hunt for the championship as he’s only six points behind the leaders.
