A long time coming!
The Ontario Power Authority has advised that construction of a hydro transmission line from the Dryden area to Pickle Lake is about 2-years away.
Pickle Lake Mayor Roy Hoffman says they needed that line a long time ago.
Hoffman says they’ve been maxed out for 15-years.
Hoffman notes he knows of a couple of junior mining companies that can’t get started right now.
He notes currently Musselwhite is running 20-megawatts short of power and stresses this line will help future needs.
Hoffman notes the next step is convincing the province to create an east-west power corridor as well as a north-south line.
