Pickle Lake Forest Fire

Firefighters in Northwestern Ontario are busy trying to contain a blaze which has been threatening the Pickle Lake area.
The Ministry of Natural Resources says the fire broke out near the airport over the weekend.
The 550-hectare blaze has forced the evacuation of about 100 people from the small hamlet of Central Patricia.
An OPP spokesperson says firefighters have made progress and those residents may be allowed to return home shortly.
Meantime, the MNR notes more fire crews scheduled to head west this week are being held back to ensure enough personnel are available for the Pickle Lake blaze.
