Plans For Industry Council Moving Forward

The Homeward Bound Program at the Dryden Native Friendship Centre is moving ahead with the establishment of an Industry Council.

The goal is to have local and regional employers provide job guidance, support, resources and training to single, Indigenous mothers.

Program Manager Shana Hansson says they help participants with feedback and share employment opportunities as they become available.

Hansson says evidence shows that the more involved the Industry Council is with the program, the better the outcomes for the participants.

Hansson says an employer-led hands-on approach helps provide confidence for those taking part in the initiative.

She says they are now looking for local and regional employers to take part.
