The Dryden Police Services Board has decided to keep the night guard position.
The Board was pondering transfering guard duty to the Communications Centre in a bid to save money.
Chief Rob Davis says they will take another look at the service in 2014.
The Police Service has spent $77,000 on night guards this year, $62,000 over budget.
Davis says a move to close the Communications Centre in 2014 played a factor in their decision.
