The Dryden Police Services Board isn’t the only one having trouble finding individuals to sit on the Board.
In an e-mail, the Ontario Association Police Services Board states there are currently 56-provincial appointee positions vacant, including two in northwestern Ontario.
Ignace has been looking for someone since June 19th, while Hearst has had an open position since June of last year.
While there has been some criticism of a slow approval process by the government, the e-mail stresses there haven’t been any applications in 18-communities.
Dryden struggled for several years to find an appointee but thanks to some lobbying was able to recently welcome Judy Green to the Board.
