Police Chief Not Pleased With Program Cuts

Dryden’s Police Chief is upset with a federal decision to cut funding for the five year Police Officer Recruitment program.
The program provided funding for police forces to hire additional officers.
Rob Davis says its frustrating and notes little thought has been given to its impact on Northwestern Ontario.
Davis is also upset that police agency’s didn’t hear first hand about the decision from the Federal minister involved.
Davis says the decision won’t impact the Dryden Police Service budget as they will stick with the current compliment of 20 officers.
