The Special Investigations Unit is probing a police shooting yesterday along the North Shore of Lake Superior.
OPP say a 30-year-old man was shot in the arm by an officer as he tried to flee police in a stolen vehicle.
An 18-year-old female passenger in the vehicle fled the scene on foot but was later apprehended.
The man was taken to hospital with non-life threatening injuries.
Neither the woman nor the officer were hurt in the incident.
The shooting occurred on a stretch of the Trans-Canada Highway between Rossport and Schreiber.
For investigation purposes, police have closed the highway between Nipigon and Schreiber and it is not expected to reopen until later this morning.
