Poppy Donations Stay In Community

By wearing a poppy you are remembering those who fought for our freedom as well as your supporting local causes.

That’s the message from Brian Buffett, the Chair of the Dryden Legion Poppy campaign.

Buffett stresses all donations stay in the community.

Buffett says half of the funds are earmarked for their four year commitment towards a new CT Scan machine at the Dryden Regional Health Centre.

The remaining funds go towards student bursaries, maintaining the handi-capped elevator at the Legion as well as the Dryden Army Cadets and the Machin Air Cadets.

Buffett is thanking the community for their on-going support.

He says he’s delighted and thankful to see so many people around town wearing a poppy.

There are some 50-locations in the Dryden area with poppy boxes.
