Population Shrinking

The population in the Kenora District is getting smaller, but its also getting younger.
Figures released by Statistics Canada show the natural growth rate in the area is about double the provincial average.
Genvieve Oulette is an analyst with StatsCan and says almost a third of our population is under the age of 18.
On the other hand, the population of the Kenora District is shrinking.
There were 1,600 fewer people in 2009, compared to 2006.
