The government has granted the town’s request for $1 million 60 thousand dollars to be invested in the Portage Avenue Underpass Project – Mayor Roy Avis announced at last nights town council meeting.
After being turned down by COMRIF twice, the town decided to request just half the cost of the project from the provincial Rural Infrastructure Investment Initiative.
Construction for the $2.1 million dollar project will begin sometime this spring.
