Positive Outlook For The Forestry Industry

The Ontario Forest Industries Association believes the forestry sector is on the up and up.
President Jamie Lim says all indicators point to a rebound in 2013 and she credits northern mayors for keeping faith in the industry.
Lim adds the vision is finally paying off with the re-opening of Kenora Forest Products and the Mill in Hudson along with the building of a new sawmill in Atikokan.
A rise in the U.S. housing market is being credited with the rebound.
Lim adds that B.C. is sending more product to the Chinese market which is opening up more U.S. demand for Ontario.
Lin notes another indicator is the composite price index.
It has hit 355 which opens up free trade.
