Power Lost after Plane Crash

Sunday’s crash of a Bearskin Airlines plane near Red Lake has knocked out power to some 900 homes.

Hydro One estimates that the power outage effecting McKenzie Island and Cochenour may not be restored until late evening on Monday, November 11, 2013. The Municipality will update residents as per Hydro One’s notices.

Highway 125 may be closed at Rahill Beach Road and Nungessor Road. Residents may have to re-route via McMarmac Road and East Bay Access Road (new Rubicon Road).

The Red Lake Recreation Centre will be open at 8:30 a.m. for McKenzie Island and Cochenour residents if required.

The Miss McKenzie Ferry will be operating 24 hour service until further notice.

Municipal officials ask that you call 727-0182 if you have any questions.
