Several hundred homes in the Kenora and Vermilion Bay areas are still without power.
Many Hydro One customers have been in the dark for over a day and a half.
Tiziana Brancaga-Rosa is a Spokesperson for the utility and says some customers may be without electricity until Saturday night or even Sunday afternoon.
She says crews are working as quickly and safely as possible.
Brancaga-Rosa says they are bringing in extra crews to help deal with the situation.
At the height of the power outage, as many as 8,000 customers across northwestern Ontario were affected.
