A Nova Scotia MP believes it’s just a matter of time before there will be another female prime minister in Canada.
Kim Campbell became the first and so far only prime minister when she served for a few months in 1993.
Halifax MP Megan Leslie says it will happen again.
In 2011, 452 women candidates ran in the federal election and a record 24% were elected.
Leslie, is the deputy leader with the NDP, and made the comments ahead of International Women’s Day on Sunday.
