Premier Kathleen Wynne is defending the work her government is doing in the Ring of Fire in northern Ontario.
Wynne says the opposition is spreading a message that the Province isn’t doing enough.
Wynne notes the province must ensure all environmental standards are met and that First Nations needs are addressed.
She says the opposition parties are trying to rush the project.
Wynne also addressed the conversation of the Coal Fired plant in Thunder Bay.
She says no final decision has been made but notes both local Liberal MPP’s have expressed their feelings about keeping the plant operational to meet the north’s energy needs.
Wynne touched on both issues at a media event Tuesday in Thunder Bay.
