Premier Reacts To Cliffs Decision

Premier Kathleen Wynne is reacting to news that Cliffs Natural Resources has suspended operations at the Ring of Fire in northern Ontario.
Wynne says she doesn’t see the move as a pressure tactic to get the environmental process moving faster.
She says the move is natural and notes it’s a complicated project.
Wynne most of the work is engaging impacted communities and First Nations.
She is pledging to work with Cliff’s to iron out any concerns.
Meantime, a Sudbury city councillor is putting out a challenge to the provincial and federal governments to grant the necessary approvals to get the Ring of Fire project back on track.
Dave Kilgour notes that when car plants in southern Ontario have threatened to close, speedy government action is never
an issue, so why can’t the same happen in northern Ontario.
