Premier Unveils Guaranteed Basic Income Program

Northwestern Ontario is going to be one of three areas in the province which will experiment with offering area residents a guaranteed basic income.

Premier Kathleen Wynne announced Monday that the pilot project will be run out of Thunder Bay starting this Spring.

Wynne says if you’re a person who’s on low income and having a difficult time making ends meet, you can apply for the three year pilot project, even if you have job.

Other areas taking part are Hamilton and Lindsay.
